Beau Bridges is an award-winning actor who has portrayed a myriad of different characters during a career spanning more than four decades. As a member of a preeminent Hollywood acting family, he started at a young age and has worked virtually non-stop in his profession ever since.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bridges has demonstrated extraordinary range and versatility as an actor. Portraying such historical figures as P.T. Barnum, President Richard Nixon, and former White House press secretary James Brady, who was shot and paralyzed during an assassination attempt on President Reagan.
Mr. Bridges has appeared in numerous feature films, television movies, and theatrical plays that have earned him three Emmys, two Golden Globes, and a "Best Supporting Actor" nod by the National Society of Film Critics for "The Fabulous Baker Boys." He recently wrapped production on Steven Spielberg's mini-series "Into the West" as well as IFC Films' "Rose and the Snake" with Daniel Day-Lewis.
In addition to acting, Mr. Bridges serves as president of the Wishtoyo Foundation, which protects and preserves the culture and history of coastal communities and fosters responsibility for our waters, marine habitats, and watersheds through research, education, and community action.
