After serving as vice-president
and general sales manager of New World Pictures for
six years, Tim Swain moved to Trimark Entertainment
as executive vice-president where he managed the theatrical,
home video/dvd, domestic television, acquisitions
and post-production divisions. Leaving shortly before
Trimark's merger with Lion's Gate Entertainment, Swain
moved into the production of independent feature films.
Swain's first project was "Dahmer" on which he served as Executive Producer. This critically-acclaimed film was released theatrically and nominated for three IFP Spirit Awards. Following that Swain produced "Gacy" in partnership with Larry Rattner and Peninsula Films.
In 2003, Swain produced the hip-hop western "Gang Of Roses" starring LisaRaye, L'il Kim, Monica Calhoun, Stacey Dash, Marie Matiko, Bobby Brown and Macy Gray. The film was released theatrically in 2003.
Recently, Swain produced "Nora's Hair Salon" with partner Jean-Claude LaMarre. The film stars Jenifer Lewis, Tamala Jones, Tatyana Ali, L'il Kim, Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston.
In 2004, Tim Swain and writer/director Dan Polier formed Magical Thinking Pictures to produce "Debating Robert Lee."
